Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS) – also known as Oral Rehydration Therapy (ORT)) are a solution of sugars and salts which helps to slow the evacuation of fluids, allowing for the absorption of electrolytes in the intestines. 
Used for oral rehydration in acute diarrhea & cholera. 
Convenient for home use with the accurate proportion of salts in each sachet

Dissolve contents of 1 sachet in 250 mL cool, boiled water.
Adult 250 mL 4 times for 1st 2 hr up to 12 times daily.
Childn 2-5 yr 250 mL 3 times for 1st 2 hr up to 6 times daily
<2 yr 250 mL for 1st 2 hr up to tds.

Each sachet contains: NaCl 650 mg, KCl 375 mg, trisodium citrate 725 mg, glucose anhydrous 3.375 g

Sodium salts should be used cautiously in patients with cardiac failure, hypertension, impaired renal function, peripheral nad pulmonary edema and in toxaemia of pregnancy.
Potassium salts should be used cautiously in patients with renal or adrenal insufficiency, acute dehydration or heat cramps. Care should be exercised if potassium salts are given concomitantly with potassium-sparing diuretics.
