Norit is indicated as gastrointestinal absorbent in the treatment of acute diarrhea, flatulence (excessive gas in the stomach and/or intestine) and mild food poisoning.

3-5 capsules 3-4 times a day; maximum 12 capsules a day. The capsules should be taken with water orally.
Children’s dosage is half dosage of adult dose.

200mg activated charcoal per capsule.

Contraindicated in total gastrointestinal obstruction, suspected ileus, acute abdominal pain and ulcerative colitis.
Treatment of diarrhea in children under 6 years old should be under medical supervision.

The use of activated charcoal will cause the feces to be black.
